A Nest of Nests - The Blunden/Stonewater public art award competition.

The Competition called for designs in a prominent location on a new housing development featuring many affordable homes on a site near Leeds, UK.

It needed to stimulate engagement with the community and complement the development scheme. It had to consider the location of natural features such as trees, the aesthetics of neighbouring homes and its prominence at the entranceway of the site.

Martin proposed an installation representing a bird’s nest within a birds nest, with a ‘quiet’ space dramatically cut through the centre for both effect and to allow for the full public experience, enjoyment and engagement of the interactive art piece.

It was not selected to progress to final assessment.
