TeneT
Martin says: ‘Tenet is an installation artwork about the human mindscape. An aluminium frame from which a multitude of elastic wires criss-cross from all angles. TeneT is inspired by my close experience of those with seemingly disordered minds - very particularly dementia - actually showing great clarity at times, given just a little chance to shine. As we approach, all we see is apparent chaos; but take time to examine more closely by passing around the artwork and order is to be found.
It is as a form of anamorphic art, where different perspectives, as in life, can give an entirely unexpected view. ‘TeneT’ is my name for something that is born of tension.’
This was intended as a maquette of sorts, to see if this idea could go from mind to paper to 3d. The audience reaction strongly suggests it can.
