National Emergencies Trust

During the early months of the pandemic, NET asked Martin to consider an installation to help mark their progress.

His proposal was a set of vertical prisms formed in a circle. Monumental but not grandiose. Each pillar or prism represents a separate characteristic that emerged from the nation during that time (neighbourliness, science, courage etc) and the creative ‘hook’ was that each prism would create a natural spectrum of colour, reflecting the colours of the NHS embraced by the country at the time. Full access, engagement and interactivity was a key part of the proposal. The images of the prism(s) in an outside setting are CGI and represent different ways the concept could be used - nationally, in an urban or park environment, and as more local standalone artworks

Although creatively extremely well received, in the end the Board decided not to proceed.
